The begining

I have never blogged before but thought the 2013 Hot Rod Power Tower would be a good time to start so here it goes.

Day One
Iowa Park, TX to Arlington, TX

Can't believe this day is finally here, we have been talking about and planning to do another Power Tour for a long time.  We were so happy when we found out it was going to start in our area, the last time we went on the Power Tour was in 2004.  It went from Arlington TX to Green Bay WI that year.  We had so much fun and couldn't wait to be able to do it again.  So this year we are again starting in Arlington and ending in Charlotte NC.

We planned to meet up with the Green family to head out at 9:30.  We were completely ready to go before 9.  Can you tell we were excited?  Dave loaded most of the stuff in the car last night and when he finished loading this morning he couldn't believe we had room to spare.  Either we are getting good at packing or we are forgetting to bring a lot of stuff we may need.

The Green's arrived promptly at 9:30 ... and we are off on our adventure.

We have figured out that Power Tour = Rain
It rained on us more than half the way to Arlington and on and off at the event (it's even raining as I type).

It was a pretty good day, hot and muggy but a good day.  When we were heading from the event to the hotel we noticed a pick up truck seemed to be following us.  They got behind Brad and changed lanes every time we did, etc.  So, we decided to pull into a convenience store.  He followed us in and kept watching us.  We sat there for quite a while and so did he.  Finally Dave decided to take a picture of the truck so the dude pulled out and around to the other side of the store and just sat there again. It was pretty creepy!!  I guess the dude finally figured out that we were not going anywhere and left.  I wrote down the license plate number and his description just in case.  We drove around a little while and took a round about way to the hotel.  Hopefully that is the last we see of that guy!

After a yummy dinner at Hacienda Ranch I am ready to call it a day.  We have an early start and we are headed to Texarkana.

I will try to post some pictures tomorrow.
